With a deep love and respect for education, I have spent my adult life studying literature and the art of storytelling. Now I love to share that knowledge and those stories with audiences of all ages. As a research librarian at an Australian university, I use every type of technology at my disposal but ensure that I never get so busy multi-tasking that I forget to use the greatest information skill available – the ability to absorb and share stories.
As a qualified librarian, I have been fortunate to work across two Australian states, in special, public, joint school/public and now a tertiary library. In those roles I have helped to archive and catalogue a significant historical photographic collection, worked with thousands of children and young adults and their parents, and mentored other librarians just beginning their careers. I am now privileged to support the research needs of academics and post graduate students at one of the most beautiful university campuses in Australia, if not the world. Ok, I may be a little biased, but trust me, it really is a stunning campus.
Home is just seven minutes from work and is perched on a hilltop with a view of hills and bush. My home is shared with a beloved husband, a daughter who is making her own incredible mark on the world, a bouncy, boisterous, gigantic puppy, 2 dominant cats, a cuddly rabbit and hundreds of books (they're legitimate tools of the trade, OK?). It's a blessed life and one I'm grateful for every day.
